Tailgate Collection Hats

Tailgate Collection Everglades Hat by Imperial - Go Gators! | oysters and pearls

Go Gators!  I know I’m surrounded by Georgia fans here in Bainbridge (including my dear sweet husband) but when Imperial contacted me to see if I’d like to try out a cap from their new Tailgate Collection, I couldn’t resist The Everglade Hat to show a little school spirit.  The company has been around since 1916, so they know hats.

It’s perfect for tailgating (or year round when you just can’t even with your hair that day) and I like that it’s a somewhat subtle nod to the Gators.  And with the way Florida has been playing lately, I have a feeling I’ll be getting lots of wear out of this cap! (GO GATORS!)

For everyone else, the Tailgate Collection includes hats and visors in all manner of states and team colors!  The pictures click over to the respective caps.

**Imperial provided this hat to me free of charge, but all opinions and photos are my own, and I would never post about a product I didn’t really love!**

Happy Birthday, Sweet Wheat!

He doesn’t have a facebook page or a twitter account (although he does have Instagram!), so if you see him around today, tell Wheat HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Wheat & Juin 2015 | oysters and pearls

I hope that your day is full of golf, football, Juin, fall weather, and all the sweets – I even promise not to make any sweet tooth comments!  Love you!!

And in case anyone is interested in some really great guy gifts, Wheat was thrilled with his this morning. :)  He got a new pair of briar britches from Kevin’s for his upcoming pheasant hunting trip to North Dakota (not pictured) already, but today he awoke to a Yeti cooler cup (also from Kevin’s), a shotgun shell carrier from Sturdy Brothers (not for sale online, but they’ll have them at Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival again this year!), a Sturdy Brothers Sturdy Square (a pocket square or handkerchief), and a Bixby beard comb I also picked up at our Maiden South pop up at Sturdy Brothers last week. I may or may not hope this encourages him to grow his beard again…

Not (completely) pictured is the blaze orange hat Wheat requested for his North Dakota trip.  I’m still working on it!  But Harold is obviously a huge help when it comes to hand knitted gifts.

Just in case any knitters are interested, the yarn is a superwash worsted by Sweet Georgia (colorway: Dutch) that I purchased at (where else?) Fuzzy Goat. For those of you not near Thomasville, you can find it online directly from Sweet Georgia Yarns here.  The pattern is the same one I knitted for my dad last year (and for Wheat last year using Spud & Chloe Sweater in Penguin).  You can find the pattern in my Ravelry projects here – and find & friend me on Ravelry @ oystersandpurls!

Happy Birthday, sweet Wheat!!!

Love Does!

bob goff thomasville ga

Just a quick post to share a super exciting event in our area tonight – Bob Goff, author of Love Does, is going to be doing a book-signing TONIGHT at our friends The Bookshelf in Thomasville!

Love Does is one of the more life-changing, perspective-altering books I’ve ever read, and I can’t recommend it to you dear readers enough.  On top of that, all the profits from Love Does go to Restore International and The Mentoring Project, organizations seeking to put love into action for those who need it most.

If you’re free tonight, head over to The Bookshelf and pick up a copy, get it signed, and prepare to have your life view altered. :)
