Step 1: Make a roasted artichoke.
Step 2: Admire how pretty it is.
Step 3: Feel very, very fancy.
Step 4: Devour it.
I picked up an artichoke on sale last week on a whim. Wheat had never had a whole one like this, and I decided it had been far too long since I had.
First, no matter what you’re gonna do with your ‘choke, trim it up.
Just use some kitchen scissors to trip the sharp points off of the “leaves” and the stem.
Then, sit it down on a big piece of aluminum foil, and season it however you’d like. I used my usual favorite seasoning combination of Cavender’s, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
Make sure to get it all into every nook and cranny.
Wrap it up tightly in the tin foil and place on a baking sheet.
Roast at 400 degrees for 45 minutes or so.
Unwrap the deliciousness!
Peel each “leaf” off one by one and scrape the goodie off with your teeth. Even better if you happen to have some leftover Homemade Caesar Salad Dressing to dip each piece in.
Which we did.
We had ours with a delicious steak and some truffled new potatoes. I kept saying to myself, “Gah, you fancy!”
And we were.
Easiest fancy schmancy dinner ever.
These would also make excellent fancy schmancy appetizers for a fancy schmancy party.
That’s all for today, folks!
