Happy New Year!

I hope you all rang in the New Year safely and soundly.  I hope 2013 was good for you, and that 2014 brings you much joy and happiness!  We stayed at home while I downed a couple hot toddies and cuddled with the critters.  Exciting, I know.

I’m going to have an entire post dedicated to cold remedies coming up next week, for those of you who are suffering through one now or will be in the near future.  I.e. I’m going to have an entire post on chicken soup and hot toddies.

But for today, I hope you catch all the sales, kill all the ducks (Wheat), and have your black eyed peas and greens for good luck and wealth in the New Year.  Might I suggest a bowl of the South to knock it all out in one dish?  Just sub black eyed peas for the field peas, and collards or your favorite green for your greens.

And if you need to know how to cook your collards separately from your peas, I’ve got your collard greens how-to right here.

No matter what you do today, I really hope you have a wonderful start to the New Year!

Until Next Time
