Excuse me while I catch my breath.
This week – nay, this entire month – have been so crazy I can hardly believe it even happened. However, lots of great things have happened. For instance, on Saturday, Wheat’s brother got married!! It was wonderful and beautiful and I’ll tell ya all about it. But first, I want to take a hot second to share a going away dinner/inaugural farm to table supper club that happened Thursday night. It was fairly thrown together at the last minute when we found out our friend Ashley was moving (we’ll miss you so!) but it turned out beautifully.
You can see our menu below, but a few words: Everything but the bread was either grown locally or raised locally (the beef came from Jones Country Meats). Most of the veggies came from our own personal farmer, Mack at Mountain Shadow Farm here in Bainbridge, along with some extras from Full Earth Farm down the road in Quincy, Florida. The scuppernong white sangria I made with grapes from my parents’ house (frozen from last summer), and the tart is a sand pear tart (remember when I canned so many sand pears?) with a South Georgia pecan frangipani and homemade Mayhaw jelly.
And with that, I’ll let the pictures tell the story today.
Bainbridge is going to miss you, Ashley!! Xo!
P.S. Recipes coming soon for the sand pear tart and the scuppernong sangria I made!
