Maiden South Grand Opening

I just wanted to pop in and say THANK YOU to all my readers who sent well wishes or came to see us for our Grand Opening at Maiden South on Saturday.  You are all amazing and wonderful and I’m so very thankful for each and every one of you!

Jess and I (along with a handful of very close friends and helpers) had a VERY late night on Friday night, but we had tons of amazing people who helped us along that evening.

We had our first sale at 8:01 AM Saturday morning.  Everyone was sleepy but excited!

And I thought it would be nice to share some updated pictures I snapped just before we opened Saturday to share with y’all.

It was a surreal day for Jess and myself, and we are just so excited to be a part of downtown Bainbridge.  The Farmers’ Market was wonderful, yet again, and luckily I was able to send Wheat out into the fray (this was before the fray, obviously ;) to obtain our veggies for the week.

Sunday morning we spent a little time gardening, which seemed an appropriate way to spend time after such a crazy weekend.  #lettucepray

Sunday evening we had a Bainbridge Farmers’ Market feast, consisting of: a salad of arugula and yukina savoy salad greens and salad radishes from Mountain Shadow Farm, sliced squash and tomatoes from a very nice man named Willie, green beans from Hopkins Farms, and bok choy from Mountain Shadow Farm.  Wheat put the venison on the table (and cooked it perfectly, to boot).  Be on the lookout for the sautéed bok choy recipe (along with other Market news) over on the Bainbridge Farmers’ Market blog!  It was a delicious addition to our meal, and we can’t wait to make it again next week.

Overall, I am just so grateful, humbled, and happy after this weekend.  We worked SO hard, and it’s so very rewarding to see Maiden South come to life.  Thank you to the many people who helped us along the way.  We have some really amazing friends in this town!

And a point worth noting: our hours may change one day, but currently Maiden South will be open

Thursday 4 pm – 8 pm
Friday 10 am – 6 pm
Saturday 8 am – 2 pm

We apologize if you stop by on another day and we aren’t open for shopping (even if one of us happens to be there), but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles, at least for the time being.  We hope you’ll understand and be patient with us!

Until Next Time
