We had a delicious meal with friends Friday night at Joe Mama’s. We had the house salad, which was my favorite part of the meal, tried the wings, which we loved, and a couple different varieties of the pizza. The Quattro was our favorite. No pictures, but trust me, it was really good! We then went to Haughty Heron for a couple drinks and some live music straight out of NOLA. We had a great time!
Saturday we spent the entire day lounging on the beach, reading, having a few drinks… it was amazing! Harold spent the early part of the morning on the beach with us (until it got too crowded). He LOVES it down there!
Me and the miracle pup! He is ridiculously photogenic. Bathing suit from J.Crew (on sale!), maxi skirt is old from Target, sunglasses by Oakley, via Southern Trading Company, earrings old, from Kate Spade.
We took Harold up for lunch, and didn’t bring him back down because there were a lot of people on the beach. And by a lot… I mean “a lot” by St. Joe standards.
Ridiculous, right?. It was the most gorgeous day! We did some wildlife watching while on the beach, as well.
Later on in the afternoon, we went to the Ling Ding fishing tournament weigh in. It was a month long tournament, but this was the last weigh in and the awards were given out as soon as everything was final. Our friend Zach runs 98 Real Estate, which was the main sponsor of the tournament, and he invited us to the weigh in. It was really fun, and luckily for us, it involved more drinks, and sausage dogs from Salt Lick Sausage Company. The sausage was seriously delicious!
After the weigh in, we head to Reagan’s Oyster Bar for a dozen each. Wheat and I ran into each other at Reagan’s, which is how we began dating, so this little oyster dive bar holds a special place in our hearts… and in our stomachs!
Blurry picture, but it was the best I could do in a dark bar! We were excited to hear that these oysters were from Apalachicola Bay, which means the Bay is open again. They were really big, and so fresh and salty. I <3 oysters!
One of my favorite parts about Reagan’s is the map marked where customers have been from.
Finally, made it back to the house and settled in to watch the sunset and have a sunset beer… with what happened to be left in the beer fridge…
We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset, and it wasn’t long before we hit the hay (aka fell asleep on the couch). It was quite possibly the most laid back day I’ve had in years, and it was PERFECT.
