I mentally drafted this post off and on for the past few days, but when I sat down to actually write it, I scrapped all the things I’d been thinking about writing. Because a deeply personal post would have been about me, not about you, and I want this to be about you.
My parents always taught me that the best gift to give is the one you’d like to receive. So today, I’m telling you what we all so earnestly need to hear some days: You are doing a good job.
If you’re a new mom and no one (most especially that brand new, non-verbal baby) is telling you, YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB.
Or maybe you’re overwhelmed by your personal life, your job and your many commitments… YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB.
Maybe your family is going through a rough patch, or the bills are piling up, and you never feel like you can get enough done in the day… YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB.
Maybe you feel guilty for working and leaving your babies with someone else… YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB.
Maybe you are raising pre-teens or teenagers and you are wondering where those sweet little babies went… YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB.
Life is really hard some times, even sometimes in the midst of your happiest days and seasons. Whatever it is that is weighing heavily on your heart today, I just want you to know that you are trying your hardest; YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB.
Know someone who might need to hear this? Tell them. Chances are you are right, and they need to hear it more than you could imagine.
